Sathy Naidu is a professor with the Institute of Marine Science at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. His primary research interest during the past 32 years has been on sedimentary processes in the arctic continental margin and basin. His interests have included clay mineralogy, trace element geochemistry and carbon isotope ratios in sediments. More recently, he has been monitoring mercury in marine and freshwater fish. He has published more than 60 articles, including several chapters in special volumes. Sathy is involved in the Alaska Native student internship program, is a Fellow of the Arctic Institute of North America and a life Member of Claire Hall, University of Cambridge (U. K.).
